I see no reason why we should not continue our attempt at peace dialogue, the matter of war only seems to enforce my view that these actions have some effect. It is interesting to see that the UshraÆKhan should choose to bring about this call to war, at a time when we bring our peace offering to their kind. No doubt the reasoning shall be clouded in the near future with a multitude of excuses, yet perhaps the point brought forward by a Matari in this very communications thread has some weight?
Is there a fear of division within the pod pilot community? Do they fear division perhaps over the choice of action?
It is clear that the two alliances in question have very different loyalties, as well as matters of discourse within their actions. The UshraÆKhan stands accused of consorting with pirates and thieves, attacking all that do not rally to their anarchistic ways and who use threats of violence to try and make their point known. They have no loyalty to their own Republic, and as such tow the line of treason against their own kind.
Their actions up until the declaration of war have shown them to be a poor choice for conversation, we have no wish to speak to them further.
The Electus Matari in our sparse contact have proven themselves to be a reserved yet forthright group, openly loyal to the Republic and to the people they serve. Although known to be staunch protestors against the ways of slavery they have at least shown the restraint to consider talking rather then abject violence, a factor that myself and my command staff have considered long in our search for a Matari associative group. I have spoken to a number of their own, and have been impressed by each individualÆs candour and civility.
I see no reason to ætar all with the same brushÆ as it were, one group are abject cowards and liars, the other have shown a modicum of civilised responsibility.
This war, inconvenient as it is solves nor instigates nothing, bar the resolve of my men to rally against a common foe. We shall dig in and fight this far as we have countless times before, and we shall prove to become a stronger and more unified force from itÆs passing.
Shall we be pushed to fight this Godless war in itÆs passing as a Paramilitary? No. Shall we change our way of life as a source of salvation to the lost? No.
Shall we abandon our efforts to strive for peace? No.
Ladies and Gentlemen, representatives of the pod pilot community, let us ignore the childish clamouring of the UshraÆKhan for attention and let the Electus Matari make their feelings known. It is time for me to retire this evening, perhaps we shall see a further resolution to the topic at hand.
We await your further reply.
Wrecking shot!
